Born in 1930 in Port Huron, Michigan, Mr. Staiger graduated from the University Wisconsin School of Business in 1953 with a B.B.A. in banking and finance.
He also obtained his law degree from the University of Wisconsin, where he was
a member of the law review. Mr. Staiger served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army,
and early in his career was employed as an attorney at the National Labor
Relations Board. He was admitted to the practice of law in Wisconsin in 1954 and
in Michigan in 1957.
Mr. Staiger served as an elected delegate from the 34th Senatorial District to the Michigan Constitutional Convention in
1961, serving on the Finance and Taxation, and the Style and Drafting Committees. Mr. Staiger has served as
a mediator for the St. Clair County Circuit Court and is a long-time Hearing
Panelist serving as a Panel Chairman for the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board.
His community service has extended to the City of Port Huron Community Relations
Board and the City Charter Revision Committee. His areas of practice include
banking law, commercial law and labor relations law.
