Born in Ionia, Michigan, Mr. Mosier has lived in Port Huron since 1969. He
served in the U.S. Air Force as a Russian Linguist Intercept Specialist from
1963 to 1967, earned a B.A. with honors from Indiana University and Michigan
State University in 1969, and graduated from Wayne State University with a J.D.
Mr. Mosier was admitted to the practice of law in Michigan in 1973, including
all courts of the State of Michigan and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of
Michigan, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.
Mr. Mosier concentrates his practice in the areas of general civil litigation
and labor and employment law, including wage and hour issues, disabilities, and
Family Medical Leave issues. He also investigates and advises on discrimination
issues, and has negotiated many collective bargaining agreements, primarily
representing management.
Mr. Mosier has served many years as the chair of a court appointed mediation
panel, and accepts appointments by parties as both arbitrator and mediator. He
has arbitrated insurance, construction, personal injury, employment and security
fraud claims, and presents cases in arbitration/mediation as a party advocate.
He has significant experience in the area of municipal law and has successfully
litigated many zoning cases and local utility cases. For many years, Mr. Mosier
represented the St. Clair County Road Commission in labor negotiations, grievance
administration, human relations and litigation of road issues.
Mr. Mosier has
been active in community service and served on many boards including Goodwill,
Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Visiting Nurses Association, and more than 25 years in
a voluntary capacity as the attorney for the St. Clair County Council on Aging.
He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the St. Clair County Bar
Association and the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.
